I am Dushshantha Kokila, a wildlife and nature photographer driven by a deep passion for exploring and documenting the natural world.
Although my academic background is in the technology and construction field, my connection with nature developed independently through personal interest, field exploration, and hands-on experience. What began as a simple curiosity gradually evolved into a dedicated journey of wildlife observation and photography.
I spend my time exploring forests, especially Sri Lanka’s rich wet zone ecosystems, carefully studying animal behavior, habitats, and natural patterns. Through patience, consistency, and real field exposure, I continue to develop my understanding of wildlife beyond formal education.
Through Wildscape, I aim to share more than just photographs. Each image reflects a moment of connection with nature — capturing behavior, emotion, and the unseen stories of wildlife. My goal is to document these experiences authentically while promoting awareness about the importance of conservation.
Wildlife photography, for me, is not just a hobby or profession - it is a personal journey shaped by passion, learning, and respect for the natural world.
Welcome to Wildscape - where every frame tells a story.
To build a globally recognized wildlife visual archive that represents Sri Lanka’s biodiversity and promotes conservation awareness.
Special Thanks
First and foremost, I am deeply grateful to my parents, whose constant motivation and support inspired me to pursue my passion for wildlife photography.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Reisen and Mr. Gayan Madhushanka for their invaluable guidance during my wildlife adventures. Mr. Gayan Madhushanka guided me through the Sinharaja Rainforest, helping me locate and observe elusive species, and shared his expertise to ensure each photograph was captured responsibly.
I also sincerely thank all the other wonderful people who assisted me in capturing wildlife across Sri Lanka. Your encouragement, knowledge, and cooperation made these experiences and images possible.
Moments like these remind me that wildlife photography is not just about the lens, but about teamwork, respect, and a shared passion for nature.
